British Columbia's human and natural resources can best be managed through the NDP's Sustainability Lens, which mandates economic, environmental and social sustainability.

  Economic:

● Benefit to BC businesses, large and small, when resources are extracted.

● Emphasis on secondary industry to build a Province that is economically, environmentally and socially sustainable.

● Commitment to British Columbia's businesses, workers and long term wellbeing.

● Support for the arts as a social foundation and an economic engine. The arts offer us joy, communion, critical thought, and new understanding. They are as necessary as breathing and essential to a sustainable society.

  Environmental:

●Stewardship of public lands and resources and preservation of urban green space, wild lands and arable land.

●Protect school lands, hospital lands, and urban spaces for future generations.

  Social:

●Protect publicly managed and delivered health care, especially long term care for seniors.

●Universal, play-based, public childcare with highly qualified staff.

● Funding for public education – both K-12 and post-secondary. Public education is the foundation of our society, our economy and our democracy.

● Increase funding for sexually abused children and children at risk. Create a province-wide, comprehensive prevention program for child sexual abuse.
